ECR Defender SR110 (Summer Runner) Upgrades
This one of a kind ECR 110 creation was built for a customer in CT. It is the SR110 version of our ECR Defender 110 3 door. For more information on this 110 check out this Summer Runner page. The new owner of this 110 wanted to add a few more tricks to make it exactly what he was looking for, so we have brought the 110 in to add on some upgrades to enhance this very cool 110 even further.
A small but very handy upgrade was the addition of Euro style side steps. These make getting in and out easier and fold up out of the way when not in use.
We also upgraded the sound system from the weak Land Rover unit to a new Alpine system with AM/FM/ CD and MP3 capabilities.
The new Alpine unit has been set up with an iPod interface and we made an simple iPod cradle inside the cubby box (green arrow). Now the new owner can plug in his iPod and close the cubby box. All the iPod controls can be handled by the head unit itself and the iPod charges while it is plugged in.
To round out the sound system upgrade we installed a set of 6" Alpine speakers in the front doors...
and another set in the rear of the 110 for full sound no matter where you are in the Defender.
In the front of the 110 we added a Warn 9000 winch in a low profile bumper mount and added 2 recovery hooks so that the 110 can winch or strap out other vehicles, or itself, from sticky situations.
Here you can see the completed SR110. It didn't need many upgrades because it has everything from new heavy duty seat covers to new BFG 265/75 tires already, but these small additions personalize the 110 and make it that much better.
